In the second or third week of our Marketing in Practice module, we looked at our career capital to help build the skills, personality traits, and competencies I possess to help me be more successful in my professional life. We each created a career wheel to illustrate the levels at which we perceive our skills are currently ranked. These abilities are based on the Bath Spa attributes that students should develop through their university experience (Bath Spa University, 2022).

After assessing my career wheel, I discovered that my strengths were being digitally literate and employable, where I possess significant soft and hard abilities. I believe that these are my strengths because of the experiences I’ve had working with digital technologies and the skills I’ve gotten through my relationship with people and extracurricular activities. Career networking and critical thinking are two of my weaker attributes, indicating areas I should strengthen throughout this project journey.

This task taught me to be more critical of myself and my current skills and be realistic about how far I still have to go to improve them to the standards of the real-world marketing industry.
